Overview
This qualification is aimed at those wanting to gain or develop their skills in the security operations of public surveillance (CCTV). The certificate meets the training and licensing requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and upon successful completion you may apply for your license to operate.

You will need a Public Space Surveillance CCTV licence if you are involved with operating CCTV equipment or where your role requires you to do any of the following:

- Codes of practice, operational procedures and guidelines
- CCTV equipment and its operation
- Control Room communication and access control
- Legislation
- Dealing with incidents
- Surveillance techniques
- Fire and emergency procedures
- Health and Safety
Licence application
You can request an application pack by calling 0844 892 1025. It normally takes six to nine weeks for each application to be processed by the SIA. The cost of a licence is 245.00 and is valid for 3 years.
